Notes about the artists:
Paul Trevillion – “The Master of Movement”
PAUL TREVILLION is recognised as the world’s No. 1 sports artist devoting a lifetime to the fine art of pen and ink. With a highly successful artistic career spanning over 60 years – TREVILLION is the creator of the cult classic ‘You Are The Ref’ and also brought comic art realism to Roy of the Rovers in the 1960’s. Trevillion’s extraordinary artistic talent was discovered and nurtured at a very young age. Encouraged by family and school teachers he pursued a ground breaking career working with the world’s greatest sports stars which has seen his original artwork published in Europe, USA, Australia, Japan and South Africa, and currently is on display in the FIFA Museum, Zurich and the National Football Museum, Manchester.
From the 1960’s onwards, Trevillion’s dynamic art featured in almost every national newspaper in the UK. Trevillion devised and illustrated instructional based art for the Daily Mirror, Daily Express, The Sun, Daily Mail, The Telegraph, The Times, Sunday Times, Guardian and Observer. A gifted artist and raconteur, Trevillion is available for interview
Trevillion’s motto to young aspiring artists: “Follow your dream. Never allow anyone to say – you can’t achieve it. You have to be the one who believes in YOU more than anyone else.” www.paultrevillion.com

Vanessa Champion PhD
Curator, judge and professional commercial and portrait photographer, founder of PhotoAid Global Foundation and the Fine Art agency, ARGENTA Creative, Vanessa is a resident of Tring, but is often found with camera in hand stepping onto a plane somewhere. Her commercial and philanthropic work has taken her all over the world from India to Indonesia, Africa to Nepal.
Passionate about music, travel and documenting stories, her inspiration remains Cartier-Bresson and Jane Bown.
Vanessa also shoots and cuts film and is never happier than photographing performance, whether that’s on the theatrical stage or at an IT conference. Known for her black and white single light style, reminiscent of the Hollywood period she shoots actors and musicians in the studio and on location.
Former academic and gallery owner, Ness gives talks on her work in Africa and India and nurtures new talent where she can.
Adriaan van Heerden
Adriaan is an award-winning international fine art photographer. His subjects include wildlife, landscapes, cityscapes, travel and portraits. His work has been exhibited in London, Barcelona, Kyoto and Singapore and his pictures held in private and corporate collections in the UK, USA and South Africa, as well his work appearing in numerous international newspapers and magazines. “It is in poetry that the Universe reveals itself to us at its most mysterious and beautiful. Living as we do in data-saturated societies with impossible standards of perfection, it is easy to lose sight of the fact that it is the absence of information that creates space for the imagination to play, and that the beauty of things is often revealed in their brokenness, fragility and imperfection. My artistic mission is to capture this poetic vision in the two dimensions of photographs I believe that poetry is all around us and we only need to tune in to the right frequency to appreciate the ephemeral, immense beauty of the Universe.”
David is a globe-trotting professional photographer and filmmaker, known for his love of the natural world. His camera will variously be trained on anything that catches his eye, from landscapes to wildlife, portraits to sport, travel, commercial and anything in between. He has had work exhibited in London and across Europe and his images are held in a variety of private collections.
“I try to not get bogged down in the art of photography – I capture anything where I see beauty, whatever that may be and wherever in the world I am. I am continually amazed at the wonder of the world and my aim is to bring a little of that splendour I encounter, back to the rest of the world.”
This is the remarkable true story of a man so driven to win, not just once but hundreds and hundreds of times, that he puts his own life at risk. Fred Archer was a jockey – by some measures the most successful one who has ever lived. But this feature-length screenplay has been written to appeal to a much wider audience than just the world of horseracing. It focuses on Archer’s relationships during a crucial few years of his life, with his associates, his family, the owners and trainers, even his rivals. And this fascinating and surprising tale of an almost-forgotten sporting hero has never before been told on film.
